Larisa Martinez, Eric Owens, J’Nai Bridges, Paul Appleby, Roderick Williams Headline 92NY’s 2022-23 Season

The 92YNY has announced its 2022-23 season.

For the purposes of this article, our focus will be solely on classical vocal performances.

The season kicks off with a concert featuring soprano Larisa Martinez in her company debut alongside violinist Joshua Bell. Peter Dugan performs at the piano.

Performance Date: Oct. 20, 2022

Eric Owens and singers from Curtis Opera Theater, including Sarah Fleiss, Lucy Baker, Joseph Tancredi, Milos Repicky, and pianist Ting Ting Wong, will perform music by Brahms, Schubert, Britten, and Berstein, among others.

Performance Date: Oct. 25, 2022

Mezzo-soprano J’Nai Bridges, pianist Mark Markham, and the Catalyst String Quartet will world premiere a piece by Jimmy López. The concert will also include art songs, popular works, and spirituals.

Performance Date: Dec. 1, 2022

Baritone Roderick Williams, the Bach Collegium Japan and conductor / harpsichordist Masaaki Suzuki will perform music by Bach and Telemann.

Performance Date: Feb. 12, 2023

The American Modern Opera Company will present the premiere of “the echoing of tenses.” The work was created by composer Anthony Cheung and features poems by Jenny Xie, Ocean Vuong, Arthur Sze, Monica Youn, and others. Tenor Paul Appleby headlines the showcase.

Performance Date: May 18, 2023
