Laquita Mitchell & Felicia Moore Headline New Orleans Opera’s 2021-22 Season

The New Orleans Opera has announced its 2021-22 season.

The season will open the first act of Wagner’s “Die Walkure” in a semi-stage production. Carlo Miguel Prieto will conduct the act with a cast that includes Felicia Moore, James Creswell, and Kevin Ray.

Performance Dates: Nov. 12 & 14, 2021

Laquita Mitchell headlines the production of “An Homage to Josephine Baker” and will also include Marigny Opera Ballet. Jeri Lynne Johnson conducts.

Performance Dates: Jan. 6-9, 2022

The season will continue with a gala concert featuring the New Orleans Opera Chorus. It will also include some special guests and will include music from “Il Trovatore” and “Aida.” Robert Lyall conducts.

Performance Dates: Feb. 11 & 13, 2022

The season concludes with Puccini’s “La Bohème” directed by Fenlon Lamb and Joseph Colaneri conducts.

Performance Dates: April 1 & 3, 2022
