Landestheater Linz Announces 2020-21 Season

The Landestheater Linz, Austria has announced its 2020-21 season.

For this article, we are highlighting the opera and operetta productions.

Opera

The season opens with Beethoven’s “Fidelio” and Mark-Anthony Turnage’s “Twice through the Heart.” Markus Poschner conducts the production by Hermann Schneider.

Premiere Date: Sept. 19, 2020

Bellini’s “I Capuleti e I Montecchi” receives a new production with Enrico Calesso conducting.

Premiere Date: Nov. 14, 2020

Markus Poschner conducts a production of Mozart’s “Le Nozze di Figaro” by François De Carpentries.

Premiere Date: Jan. 16, 2021

Gregor Horres directs Grillparzer and Doent’s “Melusina.”

Premiere Date: Jan. 22, 2021

Halévy’s “La Juive” returns to the stage with Marc Adam conducting.

Premiere Date: March 27, 2021

Jens-Daniel Herzog directs Handel’s “Rinaldo” with Ingmar Beck conducting.

Premiere Date: May 7, 2021

Operetta

Schubert’s “Das Dreimäderlhaus” will be directed by Gregor Horres.

Premiere Date: Oct. 4, 2020

Lehár’s “Das Land des Lächelns” will be conducted by Marc Reibel and directed by Andreas Beuermann.

Premiere Date: Oct. 9, 2020

Kinderoper

“Die Katze, Die Ihre Eigenen Wege Ging” will be performed with Sabine Sterken directing.

Premiere Date: May 9, 2021
