Landestheater Detmold Announces 2026-27 Season

The Landestheater Detmold has announced its 2026-27 season.

Premieres

The season opens with Puccini’s “La bohème” with Per-Otto Johansson conducting a production by Katharina Thoma.

Performance Dates: Sept. 11-Dec. 25, 2026


Carl Zeller’s “Der Vogelhändler” will be directed by Hans Walter Richter and conducted by Roc Fargas I Castells.

Performance Dates: Oct. 30, 2026-July 2, 2027


Donizetti’s “Don Pasquale” will directed by Lea Willeke.

Performance Dates: Dec. 18, 2026-April 3, 2027


Per-Otto Johansson conducts Britten’s “Peter Grimes” in a new production by Philipp Westerbarkei.

Performance Dates: Feb. 19-April 23, 2027


Saariaho’s “L’Amour de loin” will be conducted by Per-Otto Johansson and directed by Dirk Schmeding.

Performance Dates: April 16-May 28, 2027


Jerry Bock’s “Fiddler on the Roof” will be conducted by Mathias Mönius and directed by Julia Huebner.

Performance Dates: June 4 & July 1, 2027


Revivals 

Händel’s “Alcina” will be conducted by Roc Fargas I Castells.

Performance Dates: Sept. 30, 2026-Jan. 23, 2027


“Das Glück ist eine Orange” will be revived with Mathias Mönius conducting.

Performance Dates: Oct. 3, 2026-Feb. 21, 2027


Per-Otto Johansson conducts Verdi’s “La traviata.”

Performance Dates: Oct. 10 & 24, 2026
