Landestheater Detmold has announced its 2022-23 season. Here are the opera and vocal performances.

Opera

Per-Otto Johansson conducts Puccini’s “Madama Butterfly” in Zoran Todorovich’s production.

Premiere Date: Sept. 2, 2022

Paul Lincke’s operetta “Frau Luna” will be conducted by Mathias Monius and directed by Katja Wolff.

Premiere Date: Oct. 14, 2022

György Mészáros conducts Tchaikovsky’s “Eugene Onegin” in a production by Konstanza Kappenstein.

Premiere Date: Nov. 25, 2022

Händel’s “Xerxes” will be performed in a production by Kay Link. György Mészáros conducts.

Premiere Date: Feb. 10, 2023

Per-Otto Johansson and Joan Anton Rechi lead Shostakovich’s “Lady Macbeth of Mtsenk.” 

Premiere Date: March 31, 2023

Aaron Stiehl directs Mozart’s “Don Giovanni” with Per-Otto Johansson conducting.

Premiere Date: June 2, 2023

György Mészáros conducts Strauss’ “Ariadne auf Naxos” in a revival of Kai Anne Schumacher’s production.

Premiere Date: Sept. 21, 2022

Concerts

Per-Otto Johansson conducts a concert of music by Puccini, Nino Rota, and Respighi. Soloists to be announced.

Performance Date: June 27, 2023

Penelope Kendros, Lotte Kortenhaus and Seungweon Lee lead a concert of music by Mozart and Florent Schmitt.

Performance Date: June 10, 2023

Johannes von Duisburg and Per-Otto Johansson lead a program with music by Enescu, Copland, Weill, Korngold, Kalman, and Gershwin.

Performance Date: Jan. 1, 2023
