La Monnaie to Launch Free Daily Streaming

La Monnaie de Mont is set to launch free streaming on March 21, 2020.

The company will begin the series with Rimsky-Korsakov’s “The Tale of Tsar Saltan” from last June. That will be followed by Mark Grey’s  “Frankenstein” starring  Scott Hendricks.

Verdi’s “Aida” and “Macbeth” follow with Wagner’s “Tristan und Isolde” after with Bryan Register and Ann Petersen.

Ponchielli’s “La Gioconda” will follow with Beatrice Uria-Monzon.

The last two offerings will be Mozart’s “Lucio Silla” and Pascal Dusapin’s “Macbeth Underworld” with Magdalena Kozena.

The company is the latest to launch a streaming service after the Metropolitan Opera, the Royal Opera House, Teatro Regio di Torino, Teatro dell’Roma di Roma, Staatsoper Berlin, Deutsche Oper Berlin, and the Bayerische Staatsoper.
