La Monnaie / De Munt has announced that it will be streaming Britten’s ‘The Turn of the Screw’ on April 29, 2021.

The opera will be directed by Andrea Breth and conducted by Ben Glassberg. The opera stars Ed Lyon, Sally Matthews, Thomas Heinen, Henri de Beauffort, Katharinia Bierweiler, Carole Wilson, Julian Hubbard, and Giselle Allen.

“In this new production, the emphasis is not so much on invisible characters as on the unspoken and repressed emotions. She transforms the horrific and demonic short story into a terrifying psychological thriller,” says a press release from the company regarding the new production by Breth.”

Audiences will be able to check out the showcase on mezzo.tv and the company’s official website. The stream will be accessible until May 22 on mezzo.tv and until May 6 on the website. Additionally, audiences will get a chance to hear a broadcast on Musiq3 and Klara on May 22, 2021.
