La Monnaie Announces Cast Change for ‘Il Trittico’ Premiere

By Francisco Salazar

La Monnaie in Brussels has announced a cast change for its premiere of “Il Trittico.”

The company noted that Lianna Haroutounian will sing “Il Tabarro” and “Suor Angelica” stepping in for Corinne Winters, who has tested positive for COVID-19.

Winters also took to social media and said, “Sad news, my friends: I’ve tested positive for Covid and won’t be performing in the premiere of la Monnaie de munt ‘Il Trittico’ tomorrow. I’m absolutely gutted to be missing the first night, but luckily I will sing at least four more shows including the live video broadcast on March 26th. Wishing the cast and team a wonderful opening, and sending big love to Lianna Haroutounian for stepping in and saving the day. For now, I’ll be resting, reading, watching a lot of tv, and focusing on getting well.”

Haroutounian will join a cast that includes Adam Smith, Peter Kalman, and Raehann Bryce-Davis. Alain Altinoglu conducts the new production by Tobias Kratzer.

Winters returns to the production on March 17. “Il Trittico” is set to be performed through April 9, 2022.
