La Filarmónica Presents 2019-20 Season

La Filarmónica has announced its 2019-20 season featuring numerous concerts. For this article we will only focus on choral and operatic events.

Karl-Heinz Steffens conducts the Prague Opera Orchestra in Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 with Mozart’s Clarinet Concerto. Soloists will be announced at a later time.

Performance Date: Nov. 19, 2019

María Espada and Carlos Mena sing Pergolesi’s “Stabat Mater” with Scarlatti’s Concerto Gross and Porpora’s Salve Regina. Aarón Zapico conducts Forma Antiqva.

Performance Date: Feb. 11, 2019

Valery Gergiev conducts Verdi’s Requiem with the Mariinsky Theatre Orchestra. Soloists will be announced at later time.

Performance Date: March 31, 2020

The season will also include numerous soloists such as Martha Argerich, Andrés Orozco-Estrada, Maria João Pirespiano, and Pinchas Zukerman.
