Kyle Albertson Leads Pittsburgh Opera’s ‘The Flying Dutchman’

The Pittsburgh Opera is set to present Wagner’s “The Flying Dutchman” for the time in 20 years.

The production, which is set to be directed by Sam Helfrich, will be conducted by Music Director Antony Walker.

Kyle Albertson will lead the cast as the Dutchman. Marjorie Owens will join him as Senta, Peter Volpe as Daland, Bryan Register as Erik, Daniel O’Hearn as the Steuermann, and Leah Heater as Mary.

The production is set to be presented four times between Nov. 11 and 19, 2023.

This is the company’s second production of the season, following Rossini’s “The Barber of Seville.” Pittsburgh Opera will also present “Iphigénie en Tauride” and “Proving Up.”
