Kristine Opolais to Make Mexican Debut at the Palacio de Bellas Artes

By Francisco Salazar

On Nov. 7, 2026, soprano Kristine Opolais will make her Mexican debut at the Palacio de Bellas Artes.

The soprano will sing a program that includes music by Giuseppe Verdi, Alfredo Catalani, Amilcare Ponchielli, Jules Massenet, Erich Korngold, Giacomo Puccini, Franz Lehár, and Antonín Dvořák.

She will be accompanied by Abdiel Vázquez.

In a statement the soprano said, ““My debut in Mexico City—and especially my debut at the magnificent Palacio de Bellas Artes, one of the world’s most beautiful and iconic venues—marks a truly significant moment in my artistic journey. For years, I have dreamed of singing in this extraordinary hall and becoming part of its remarkable history, alongside the legendary artists and singers who have performed here and continue to grace its stage today. I eagerly look forward to my concert on November 7th at the Palacio de Bellas Artes; I cannot wait to connect with an audience that I am certain will be truly special. The evening will be all the more special because I will have the pleasure of sharing the stage with the wonderful conductor and pianist Abdiel Vázquez. We have already had the joy of working together in the past, and I am thrilled about this upcoming musical reunion. The program will be filled with music I deeply love, including some of my signature arias as well as new additions to my repertoire—and, of course, there will be a few surprises. I cordially invite you to join us for this very special recital, and I sincerely hope that our evening together becomes a beautiful memory that stays with us all for years to come.”

Opolais is an internationally recognized soprano who has performed at the world’s great stages and this season will sing at the Teatro Wielkl in Lódz, Poland and with the Boston Symphony orchestra.
