Kristine Opolais Leads Sold Out Performances of ‘Madama Butterfly’ in Tenerife

The Auditorio de Tenerife is set to present Puccini’s Madama Butterfly, the second title in Ópera de Tenerife’s 2024-25 season.
The opera, which is set to be performed on Nov. 19, 21, and 23, has been sold out for over a month.
The company will showcase a production from the Teatro Comunale di Modena that is over 20 years old.
Ramón Tebar will lead the work with superstar Kristine Opolais in the title role. She will be joined by Giorgi Sturua as Pinkerton, Alisa Kolosova as Suzuki, and Fernando Campero as Sharpless.
Opolais has performed the role of Cio-Cio-san to great acclaim at the Metropolitan Opera, Royal Opera House, and Bayerische Staatsoper, among others. She is known for her many Puccini roles and has performed at many of the great theaters in the world.
