By Francisco Salazar

Kristine Opolais has canceled her final performance of “Tosca” on July 30 at the Greek National Opera.

The soprano took to social media and said, “I am so sorry that I have to cancel tonight’s performance of ‘Tosca’ at the Greek National Opera. I woke up with a very bad cold and do not want to put my colleagues at risk. I wish everyone a beautiful night at the opera, and am so sad I cannot join you all tonight.”

The July 30 performance is still set to star Ramón Vargas and Dimitri Platanias. Philippe Auguin conducts the revival of Hugo de Ana’s production.

“Tosca” runs through July 31 and is also starring Lianna Haroutounian, Giorgio Berrugi, and Tassis Christoyannis.
