Kristina Mkhitaryan & Adriana Gonzalez Lead Opera National De Lorraine’s 2019-20 Season

The Opéra National de Lorraine has announced its 2019-20 season featuring six productions. For the purpose of this article, we will only concentrate on the opera productions.

Opera 

Reyer’s “Sigurd” gets a concert performance with Peter Wedd, Jean-Sebastien Bou, Jerome Boutillier, Nicolas Cavallier, Catherine Hunold, and Camille Schnoor. Frederic Chaslin conducts.

Performance Date: Oct. 14 & 17, 2019

David Hermann directs a production of Massenet’s “Cendrillon” with Helene Guilmette in the title role, Antoinette Dennefeld, Doris Lamprecht, Marc Barrad, and Marlene Assayag. Jean Marie-Zeitouni conducts.

Performance Dates: Dec. 15-22, 2019

Adriana Gonzalez, Huw Montague Rendell, Mikhail Timoshenko, Lilian Farahani, and Giuseppina Bridelli star in Mozart’s “Le Nozze di Figaro” with James Gray directing the production and Andreas Spering conducting.

Performance Dates: Jan. 31-Feb. 9, 2020

Handel’s “Alcina” is set star Kristina Mkhitaryan in the title role. Kangmin Justin Kim, Suzanne Jerosme, Beth Taylor, Trystan Llyr Griffiths, and Leonard Bernad round out the cast. Serena Sinigaglia directs the production with Leonardo Garcia Alarcon conducting.

Performance Dates: March 11-18, 2020

Anna Bernreitner directs Prokofiev’s “The Love for the Three Oranges” with Dion Mazerolle, Perre Derhet, Lucie Roche, Boris Grappe, Eric Huchet, and Tomislav Lavoie in the cast. Guillaume Tourniaire conducts.

Performance Dates: May 3-13, 2020

Francisco Brito, Bogdan Baciu, Eleonore Pancrazi, Omar Montanari, and Nahuel di Pierro star in Rossini’s “Il Barbiere di Siviglia” with Michele Spotti conducting. Mariame Clemont directs the production.

Performance Dates: June 26-July 3, 2020
