Kristian Benedikt, Viktorija Miškūnaitė & Mickael Spadaccini Lead Lithuanian National Opera’s 2021-22 Season
By Francisco SalazarThe Lithuanian National Opera has announced its 2021-22 season featuring a variety of repertoire for the whole family. Here is a look at the opera and operetta to be performed.
Viktorija Miškūnaitė headlines Massenet’s “Manon“ with Mickael Spadaccini and Eugenijus Chrebtovas. The production will be conducted by Julius Geniušas.
Performance Dates: Sept. 30 -Oct. 2, 2021
Verdi’s “La Traviata“ will return with three casts led by conductors Setsto Quatrini and Ričardas Šumila. Viktorija Miškūnaitė, Jiana Gedmintaitė, and Katerina Tretyakova share the role of Violetta, while Edgaras Montvidas and Mickael Spadaccini alternate as Alfredo. The cast is rounded out by Vytautas Juozapaitis, Kostas Smoriginas, and Arūnas Malikėnas, who share the role of Germont.

Viktorija Miškūnaitė, Julija Stupnianek, Kostas Smoriginas, and Eugenijus Chrebtovas lead Tchaikovsky’s “Eugene Onegin“ with Merūnas Vitulskis, Jovita Vaškevičiūtė, Vytautas Juozapaitis, and Liudas Norvaišas rounding out the cast. Ričardas Šumila and Modestas Pitrėnas conduct.

Ieva Prudnikovaitė sings the title role in Bizet’s “Carmen“ with Kostas Smoriginas, Mickael Spadaccini, Viktorija Miškūnaitė, Eugenijus Chrebtovas, and Aistė Pilibavičiūtė. Rafael Sánchez-Araña conducts.
Performance Dates: Feb. 24-26, 2022
Bartok’s “Bluebeard’s Castle“ will be performed in a double bill with the ballet “The Miraculous Mandarin.” The opera will star Monika Evelin-Liv and Liudas Mikalauskas.

Sesto Quatrini leads Halevy’s “La Juive” with Viktorija Miškūnaitė, Kristian Benedikt, Mickael Spadaccini, Mindaugas Jankauskas, Tomas Pavilionis, Regina Šilinskaitė, and Julija Stupnianek.
Performance Dates: April 8 & 9, 2022
Bernstein’s “Candide“ returns to the stage with Miles Mykkanen, Tomas Pavilionis, Gunta Gelgotė, Margarita Levchuk, Eugenijus Chrebtovas, and Jovita Vaškevičiūtė. Ričardas Šumila cnducts.

Mickael Spadaccini sings the title role in Verdi’s “Don Carlo“ alongside Viktorija Miškūnaitė, Askar Abdrazakov, Eugenijus Chrebtovas, Eglė Šidlauskaitė, Steponas Zonys, and Liudas Mikalauskas. Sesto Quatrini condcts the masterpiece.
