Krassimira Stoyanova & Tomasz Konieczny Highlight Beethoven Symphony No. 9 in Milan

The Teatro alla Scala in Milan has announced that it will perform Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9, Op. 125 on Sep. 14, 16 & 17, 2020. The special performance on Sep. 12, 2020 has been reserved for the healthcare workers.

The series of concerts will star soprano Krassimira Stoyanova, mezzo-soprano Ekaterina Gubanova, tenor Michael König, and bass Tomasz Konieczny. Performances will also feature the Orchestra and Chorus of the Teatro  alla Scala.

The presentations of Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 come as the second series of concerts since the reopening of Milan’s operatic behemoth, following performances of Verdi’s “Requiem.”

The Teatro alla Scala will deploy strict COVID-19 measures, including body temperature checks upon the entrance, mandatory face masks and social distancing.

The Music Director of the Teatro alla Scala Riccardo Chailly will conduct the performances. Bruno Casoni is the Chorus Master.
