Krassimira Stoyanova, Riccardo Massi, Ambrosio Maestri Headline Greek National Opera Galas at Odeon of Herodes Atticus

The Greek National Opera is set to perform two opera galas at the Odeon of Herodes Atticus on July 26 and 28, 2020.

The first gala performance will feature Krassimira Stoyanova, Riccardo Massi, Dmitri Platanias, and the Greek National Opera Orchestra under the musical direction of Pier Giorgio Morandi.

The gala will feature arias and duets from Verdi’s “Rigoletto,” “Il Trovatore,” “Un ballo in Maschera,” and “La Forza del Destino.” Audiences will also hear music from Giordano’s “Andrea Chénier,” Ponchielli’s “La Gioconda,” Puccini’s “Turandot,” and Catalani’s “La Wally.”

Performance Date: July 26, 2020

Two days later, Morandi will lead the Greek National Opera Orchestra in a gala performance starring Cellia Costea, Giorgio Berrugi, and Ambrosio Maestri. This performance will feature music by Ponchielli’s “La Gioconoda,” Puccini’s “Tosca,” Leoncavallo’s “Pagliacci,” and Giordano’s “Andrea Chénier.” There will also be musical passages from Verdi’s “Luisa Miller,” “Ernani,” “Il Trovatore,” “La Forza del Destino,” and “Un Ballo in Maschera.”
