The Krakow Festival Office has announced that Vincent Dumestre will continue as Artistic Director of the Misteria Paschalia Festival.
The French-born Dumestre has a long history with the festival, having first performed in Kraków in 2007 and appeared in nearly every edition since. In 2017, he became the festival’s Director-in-Residence, a role focused on highlighting Francophone cultural heritage in the programming. Moreover, his ensemble, Le Poème Harmonique, has been a regular presence at the festival throughout his tenure.
The 2027 edition of the festival will form part of the Poland-France Season announced by Poland’s Ministry of Culture and National Heritage, coinciding with broader cultural cooperation between the two nations stemming from the Treaty of Nancy signed last year.
Dumestre was appointed as Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres by the French Minister of Culture in 2004.
