KPBS to Broadcast San Diego Opera Productions Throughout July 2023
By David SalazarRadio Station KPBS 89.5 FM is set to feature numerous productions from San Diego Opera’s 2022-23 season throughout July.
The company will kick off its broadcast schedule on July 1, 2023 with “El Último Sueño de Frida y Diego” followed by a July 8 broadcast of Puccini’s “Suor Angelica” and “Gianni Schicchi.”
A week later, audiences will hear another Puccini classic, this time “Tosca.” And the opera month celebration comes to a close on July 22, 2023 with a broadcast of Nicholas Reveles’ “Ghosts.”
All four broadcasts will kick off at 8 p.m. and will be hosted by San Diego Opera’s general director David Bennett, who will introduce the operas and casts prior to each transmission. Audiences can also hear the operas via KPBS’ official website.
