
Korean National Opera to Reprise Britten’s ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’

The Korea National Opera is set to present another run of Britten’s”A Midsummer Night’s Dream.”
This production of “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” premiered last year with much success. Returning to the cast is Kim Dong-wan in the role of Puck, countertenor Jang Jeong-kwon as Oberon, as well as several ensemble members.
Soprano Yoon Sang-ah joins the cast as Helena, bass Ryu Ji-sang sings Theseus, and mezzo-soprano Ryu Hyun-soo will sing the role of Hippolyta. Choi Sang-ho directs.
“A Midsummer Night’s Dream” will take place at the Seoul Arts Center Opera Theater on Aug. 30 and 31.
