Korea National Opera Unveils 2026 Season

The Korea National Opera announces its 2026 season.

The season follows the theme, “Waves.”

First up is Massenet’s “Werther.” Hong Seok-won conducts.

Performance Dates: April 23 – 26, 2026


The Korean premiere of Britten’s “Peter Grimes” is directed by Julien Chabass and conducted by Alexander Joel.

Performance Dates: June 18 – 21, 2026


The Korea National Opera kicks off its “Ring Cycle” with Wagner’s “Das Rheingold.” Lorenzo Fioroni directs and Lothar Koenigs conducts.

Performance Dates: October 29 – November 1, 2026


The season closes with Verdi’s “Don Carlos.” Yannis Kokos serves as director. Valerio Galli conducts.

Performance Dates: December 3 – 6, 2026
