Kirsten Chambers & Ashley Fabian Headline Indianapolis Opera’s 2019-20 Season

The Indianapolis Opera has announced its 2019-20 season which features four mainstage productions. This season represents that company’s 75th anniversary.

The season kicks off with Donizetti’s “L’Elisir d’Amore.” It will feature Ashley Fabian as Adina, who has been a rising star at the Pittsburgh Opera.

Performance Dates: Nov. 15-17, 2019 

Mozart’s “Don Giovanni” comes next with Eric McKeever in the title role and Kirsten Chambers as a Donna Anna.

Performance Dates: March 20-22, 2020

The season then closes with a double bill of “Brundibar” and “Vedem.” The first is a children’s opera and will feature members from the Indianapolis Children’s Choir. The work is written by composer Hans Krása and librettist Adolf Hoffmeister and focuses on children who try to help their sick mother.

“Vedem” is an oratorio about the events at Terezin during the Holocause. It was written by Loir Laitman.

Both pieces are making their Indianapolis debuts.

Performance Dates: April 24-26, 2020

In addition to the operas, the company will showcase Opera in the Park as well as the Metropolitan Opera Indiana District Auditions.
