Keri Alkema & Sinéad Campbell-Wallace Lead Canadian Opera Company’s ‘Tosca’
By Francisco SalazarThe Canadian Opera Company’s season is set to conclude with Puccini’s “Tosca.”
The opera, which is set to be performed eight times at the Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts from May 5 to 27, 2023, is set to star Sinéad Campbell-Wallace and Keri Alkema in the title role.
Campbell-Wallace will make her company debut, while Alkema will reprise her acclaimed interpretation from 2017.
They will be joined by Italian tenor Stefano La Colla, who makes his Canadian Opera Company debut as Cavaradossi, and British baritone Roland Wood a Scarpia.
Canadian-Irish tenor Michael Colvin will round the cast, Canadian-British bass-baritone Giles Tomkins, American bass-baritone Christian Pursell, Italian bass Donato Di Stefano, and Ensemble Studio bass-baritone Alex Halliday.
Opera director Paul Curran returns to the Canadian Opera Company alongside assistant director Marilyn Gronsdal. Giuliano Carella conducts.
