Kaufman Music Center Brings Back ‘Musical Storefront’ Outdoor Concert Series

By Logan Martell

On February 3, 2022, Kaufman Music Center’s “Musical Storefront” series will return, bringing live music to audiences.

This pop-up concert series reached some 31k audience members during its initial run last winter, and created performance opportunities for more than 200 artists ranging from classical, jazz, the Great American Songbook, R&B, Gospel, and more. An unused storefront on the northeast corner of Broadway and 62nd Street will be turned into an outdoor musical venue open to the public.

Performances will run through March 17, being held several days a week at 11 am, as well as 12, 1, 4, 5, and 6 pm; artists and programs will be announced on a rolling basis via the Kaufman Music Center’s website.

“Kaufman Music Center has kept the music playing for everyone in our community,” Council Member Gale A. Brewer said in an official press statement. “The return of Musical Storefronts this winter will bring unexpected moments of joy and connection to residents on the Upper West Side. And we’ve never needed that more.”
