Melos International will present the Callas Tribute Prize NY on Nov. 25, 2019.

The event, which will take place at Columbia Unviersity’s historic Italian Academy, will feature global dignitaries, prize recipients, and renowned performers. The date was specifically chosen to honor Callas on “International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.”

Among the Awards Recipients will be famed soprano Katia Ricciarelli, soprano Sumi Jo, soprano Jessica Faselt, mezzo-soprano Alicja Wegorzewska, soprano Diana Gouglina, and International Opera manager Claudio Ferri, among others.

The concert will feature such artists as tenor Roberto Cresca, tenor James Valenti, and pianist Gianfranco Pappalardo Fiumara, among others.

There will also be a press conference set for Nov. 25 at Manhattan’s Terence Cardinal Cook Hospital, where Callas was actually born.

There will be a fashion exhibition of Maria Callas costumes as well. Those unable to attend will be able to watch the event via a TV special broadcast on World-vision.
