
Kathryn Lewek, Rachel Willis-Sørensen, Clay Hilley, Emily Rocha & Duke Kim Lead Canadian Opera Company’s 2026-27 Season

Verdi’s “La Traviata” opens the season with a cast that includes Kathryn Lewek, Lucia Cesaroni, Long Long, Luke Norvell, Russell Braun, and Reginald Smith, Jr. Paolo Carignani conducts Arin Arbus’ production.
Performance Dates: Sept. 18-Oct. 17, 2026
Laurence Kilsby, Joel Alison, Daniel Okulitch, Lauren Fagan, Martina Myskohlid, and Tracy Dahl lead Mozart’s “Così fan tutte” with Johannes Debus conducting the production by Atom Egoyan.
Performance Dates: Oct 3-18, 2026
Jane Archibald, Adrianne Pieczonka, and Kirsten LeBlanc lead Britten’s “The Turn of the Screw” with Patrick Summers conducting the production by Louisa Muller.
Performance Dates: Jan. 23-Feb. 17, 2027
Rachel Willis-Sørensen stars in Strauss’ “Ariadne auf Naxos” with Russell Braun, Ema Nikolovska, Clay Hilley, and Julie Roset. Johannes Debus conducts the masterwork with Paul Curran directing.
Performance Dates: Feb. 4-20, 2027
Elisabeth St-Gelais, Gordon Bintner, Alex Hetherington, Elliot Madore, Marion Newman, and Justin Welsh star in Ian Cusson and Cherie Dimaline’s “Empire of Wild.” The world premiere will be conducted by Johannes Debus and directed by Yvette Nolan.
Performance Dates: May 1-21, 2027
Duke Kim, Emily Rocha, Joshua Hopkins, and Luca Pisaroni star in Donizetti’s “L’Elisir d’Amore” with Lorenzo Passerini conducting. James Robinson directs.
Performance Dates: May 8-29, 2027
Ryan Trew and Rachel Krehm’s “Come Closer” will star Rachel Krehm and Jacqueline Woodley. Evan Mitchell conducts the production by Anna Theodosakis.
Performance Dates: June 18-20, 2027
The season will also include the Centre Stage: Ensemble Studio Competition.
