Kathryn Lewek & Lyubov Petrova Lead San Antonio Symphony’s 2020-21 Season

The San Antonio Symphony Orchestra has announced its 2020-21 season featuring well-known conductors and international soloists.

In a press release the organization noted that due to the ongoing pandemic, “it’s prepared to act on all recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control, the State of Texas, Bexar County, and the City of San Antonio, should circumstances require changes to its performance schedule.”

For this article we will be highlight only vocal performances.

Michael Christie conducts Orff’s “Carmina Burana” with Kathryn Lewek, John Tessier, Craig Irvin, and the San Antonio Symphony Mastersingers. The concert will also include Mozart’s Symphony No. 38, Prague and Schnittke’s Moz-Art à la Haydn.

Performance Dates: Nov. 20 & 21, 2020

Garrett Keast conducts a program that includes soloists Lyubov Petrova and the San Antonio Symphony Mastersingers. The program includes Mozart’s Overture to “Don Giovanni,” Poulenc’s “Gloria,” Rimsky-Korsakov’s Russian Easter Overture, and Stravinsky’s Firebird Suite.

Performance Dates: April 9 & 10, 2021

These performances will be held at the H-E-B Performance Hall, The Tobin Center in San Antonio, Texas.
