Giuseppe Verdi’s “La Traviata” is set to return to the Canadian Opera Company for 10 performances from Sept. 18 to Oct. 17, 2026 at the Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts.

The opera will be revived by Mo Zhou and conducted by Paolo Carignani. Soprano Kathryn Lewek makes her Canadian Opera Company debut as Violetta Valéry and will share the role with Lucia Cesaroni, who is also making her company debut.

Long Long and Luke Norvell will sing the role of Alfredo, while Russell Braun and Reginald Smith will share the role of Germont.

The cast will be rounded out by number of current and graduate Ensemble Studio artists including mezzo-soprano Ariana Maubach, baritone Peter Barrett as Baron Duphol, bass-baritones Nick Murphy, and Alex Halliday, tenor Owen McCausland and soprano Emma Pennell.

“La Traviata” will be sung in Italian and presented by the COC with English and French SURTITLES™.
