Kathryn Lewek Announces Last Minute Munich Debut

Kathryn Lewek is set to make her Bayerische Staatsoper debut.

The soprano announced via social media that she will make her Munich debut, filling in last minute in a production of “Die Entführung aus dem Serail.”  Albina Shagimuratova was originally scheduled to perform the role of Konstanze.

Lewek is well-known for her Queen of the Night in “Die Zauberflöte,” which she has performed all around the world. The soprano recently made her Opera de Monte Carlo debut and  is slated to return to the Salzburg Festival for “Orphée aux enfers” in the role of Eurydice.

The soprano joins a cast that includes Caroline Wettergreen, Daniel Behle, Manuel Günther, Peter Rose, Bernd Schmidt, and Charlotte Schwab. Constantin Trinks conducts the revival.

The production runs from April 4 through 9, 2019.
