Kathleen Turner is set to join the cast of Donizetti’s “La Fille du Régiment” at the Metropolitan Opera.

The Metropolitan Opera announced that Turner will perform the non-singing role of the Duchess of Krakenthorp.

Turner will perform alongside Pretty Yende in the role of Marie, and Javier Camarena as Tonio. Meanwhile, Stephanie Blythe will play the Marquise of Berkenfield, with Alessandro Cornelio and Maurizio Muraro sharing the role of Sergeant Sulpice. Enrique Mazzola conducts the comic gem.

Turner, a two Golden Globe-winning and Academy Award nominee, is known for her work on TV, film, and theater. She joins a list of distinguished actresses who have played the Duchess of Krakenthorp at the Met including Jane White (1983), Bea Arthur (1994), and Marian Seldes (2008).

“La Fille du Régiment” opens on Feb. 7 and runs through March 2, 2019.
