Mozart Mass in C Minor
Pentatone releases Marc Minkowski and Les Musiciens du Louvre in a new recording of Mozart’s Mass in C Minor. Minkowski uses Helmut Eder’s 1985 edition and performs it in a chamber-like setting. The recording also includes Ana Maria Labin, Ambroisine Bré, Stanislas de Barbeyrac, and Norman Patzke. The album marks Les Musiciens du Louvre’s Pentatone debut.
Monteverdi’s Complete Madrigal
Italy yields an imposing complete assemblage of all nine books of Claudio Monteverdi’s madrigals in a 15-CD boxed set released by Naxos. The new box puts its nine highly acclaimed releases under a single roof, culminating in the monumental Eighth Book. Marco Longhini leads the small vocal and instrumental ensemble he founded in 1992, Delitiæ Musicæ, in acclaimed performances of Monteverdi’s famed works. The compilation was recorded between 2002 and 2019.
