San Francisco Opera has announced its upcoming program for “Opera is ON.”

The company will present Rossini’s “La Cenerentola” in a production by Jean-Pierre Ponnelle. Karine Deshayes stars as Angelina with René Barbera as Ramiro. Christian Van Horn, Zanda Svede, Maria Valdes, and Efraín Solís round out the cast, which is conducted by Jesús López-Cobos.

Streaming Date: July 18, 2020 

The company will then follow that performance with a showcase of Janáček’s “The Makropulos Case” in a production directed by Olivier Tambosi. Jiří Bělohlávek conducts a cast headlined by Karita Mattila, Miro Dvorsky, Gerd Grochowski, and Dale Travis.

Both performances can be viewed on the San Francisco Opera’s official website. They will start streaming at 10 a.m. PDT / 1 p.m. EDT and will remain on the channel until 11:59 p.m. PDT the following day.
