Karen Slack, Kenneth Overton & Alyson Cambridge Highlight Opera Carolina’s 2021-22 Season

Opera Carolina has announced its 2021-22 season featuring four productions. Here is a look:

The season opens with “I Dream” by Douglas Tappin and will star Derrick Davis, Victor Ryan Robertson, Alyson Cambridge, Lucia Bradford, Kenneth Overton, and Avalon Cutts-Jones. James Meena conducts.

Performance Dates: Sept. 16-19, 2021

Richard Ollarsaba sings the title role in Mozart’s Don Giovanni with Melinda Whittington, Johnathan White, Gerardo de la Torre, Alex Soare, Sequina DuBose, and Jordan Bisch. James Meena conducts.

Performance Dates: Feb. 3-6, 2022

Melinda Whittington and Dominic Armstrong star in “The Falling and The Rising” by Zach Redler and Jerre Dye. Emily Jarrell Urbanek conducts.

Performance Dates: March 11 & 12, 2022

Karen Slack stars in Verdi’s Aida,” the final opera of the season. The soprano will be joined by Gianluca Sciarpelletti, Mark Rucker, Deborah Nansteel, and Jordan Bisch. James Meena conducts the work.

Performance Dates: April 7 & 9, 2022
