Kanye West To Bring Second Opera ‘Mary’ To Lincoln Center

By Francisco Salazar

Kanye West is set to present his second opera “Mary,” staged in an aquatic arena in Miami earlier this month, at David Geffen Hall in Lincoln Center in New York City.

The opera, in which West paints himself silver and re-enacts the nativity, is set to feature West’s Sunday Choir and will be directed by the rapper’s longtime collaborator Vanessa Beecroft.

Mary” is West’s second opera, following ”Nebuchadnezzar,”which was staged at the Hollywood Bowl last month. OperaWire noted, “the dramatization of the story that West was narrating thus fell onto the choreography and staging of Vanessa Beecroft. It wound up a mixed bag due to one prominent decision.”

“Mary” is set to presented on Dec. 22 at 8 p.m.
