Kang Wang, Francesca Dotto, Louise Kwong to Headline Opera Hong Kong’s ‘La Bohème’

Opera Hong Kong is set to present Puccini’s “La Bohème” starting on Jan. 12, 2023.

There will be a total of four performances of the opera, which ends its run on Jan. 15, 2023.

The production, which will be directed by Tang Shu-wing and conducted by Roberto Gianola, will star Kang Wang as Rodolfo. Alternating the role of Mimì will be Francesca Dotto (three performances) and Louise Kwong (one performance). Yunpeng Wang and Michael Lam will alternate as Marcello, while Nina Solodovnikova and Anna Zhang will share the role of Musetta.

As Schaunard, audiences will hear both Paolo Ciavarelli and Lam Kwok Ho, while Vladimir Sazdovski and Freddie Tong will take turns as Colline. James Price will interpret Benoit and Freddie Tong and Edmund Kwan will share the role of Alcindoro. Rounding out the cast as Parpignol will be Wesley lam.

All performances will take place at the Grand Theatre, Hong Kong Cultural Centre.
