
Julie Fuchs & Edwin Crossley-Mercer to Headline Paris Opera Academy Youth Orchestra Concert at Palais Garnier
By David SalazarSoprano Julie Fuchs and baritone Edwin Crossley-Mercer will perform alongside the young musicians of ADO — Apprentissage de l’Opéra at the Palais Garnier on June 13, 2026.
The showcase, conducted by Victor Jacob, will be presented with the support of Flavia and Barden Gale and features the two youth orchestras, the Orchestre Rudolf Noureev and the Orchestre Maria Callas, performing on the Palais Garnier stage.
The Orchestre Rudolf Noureev will perform the overture to Johann Strauss II’s “Die Fledermaus,” excerpts from Rimski-Korsakov’s “Shéhérazade,” Florence Price’s “Juba Dance,” the overture to Rossini’s “The Barber of Seville,” the “Dance of the Hours” from Ponchielli’s “La Gioconda,” and a choral arrangement of Piazzolla’s “Libertango.”
The Orchestre Maria Callas will present the overture and a duet from Donizetti’s “Don Pasquale,” the overture to Strauss’ “Der Zigeunerbaron,” a prelude and Ukrainian dance from Clémence de Grandval’s “Mazeppa,” and selections from Khachaturian’s “Gayaneh” and “Spartacus.”
The showcase commences at 8 p.m. local time.
