Julie Adams & Emily D’Angelo Conclude George London Foundation Recital Series’ Season

The George London Foundation Recital Series will conclude its 23rd season by presenting two George London Award winners.

Soprano Julie Adams and mezzo-soprano Emily D’Angelo will present a joint program with pianist Ken Noda. The program will showcase Adams in “Elsa’s Dream” from Wagner’s “Lohengrin” and songs by Grieg and Rachmaninoff, as well as two Strauss songs – “Morgen” and “Beim Schlafengehen.”

Meanwhile, D’Angelo will perform Schoenberg’s Four Songs, Op. 2, selections from Copland’s Twelve Poems of Emily Dickinson, and “Sein wir wieder gut” from Strauss’s “Ariadne auf Naxos.” She will also sing songs by Rebecca Clarke and Clara Schumann.

In addition, violinist David Chan and Ken Noda will perform the first movement of Debussy’s Violin Sonata in G minor and Massenet’s “Méditation” from “Thaïs.” D’Angelo and Adams will also perform duets together.

The recital is set to be performed on May 5, 2019 at the Morgan Library.
