Julianna Di Giacomo & Yusif Eyvazov Headline Bravo! Vail’s First Opera Production

By Francisco Salazar

Bravo! Vail, one of the world’s premier music festivals, has announced its first original opera production, a new, fully-staged production of Puccini’s “Tosca.”

The production custom-designed for the outdoor Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater is set to be lead by Yannick Nézet-Séguin and the Philadelphia Orchestra, the Bravo! Vail Festival Chorus, and the Colorado Children’s Chorus.

Julianna Di Giacomo sings the title role with Yusif Eyvazov as Cavaradossi, baritone Elchin Azizov as Scarpia, and bass Richard Bernstein as Angelotti. James Alexander will direct the production, which will be created by Symphony V.

In a press release, Alexander said, “I invite you to relish the immersive experience of this musical masterpiece where unleashed from the confines of the opera house pit, you will experience this vivid score with such presence.”

Performances are scheduled for July 11 and 13, 2019.
