Juliana Grigoryan, Chiara Amarù & Federica Vitali Lead Teatro del Giglio’s 2023-24 Season

The Teatro del Giglio in Lucca, Italy has announced its 2023-24 season.

The season will open with Puccini’s “La bohème” directed by Cristina Mazzavillani Muti and conducted by Nicola Paslowski. The cast will include Juliana Grigoryan (Mimì), Alessia Pintossi (Musetta), Alessandro Scotto di Luzio (Rodolfo), and Christian Federici (Marcello).

Performance Dates: Oct. 20 & 22, 2023

Rossini’s “Il Barbiere di Siviglia” will be presented in a production by Luigi De Angelis. Francesco Pasqualetti conducts a cast that includes Chiara Amarù (Rosina), Gurgen Baveyan (Figaro), Dave Monaco (Conte di Almaviva), Roberto Abbondanza (Bartolo), and Arturo Espinosa (Don Basilio).

Performance Dates: Jan. 12 & 14, 2024

Puccini’s “Madama Butterfly” will star Yasko Sato and Federica Vitali as Cio-Cio-San, Riccardo Della Sciucca as F. B. Pinkerton, Asude Karayavuz as Suzuki, and Devid Cecconi as Sharpless. Rodula Gaiatanou directs the production conducted by Alessandro D’Agostini.

Performance Dates: Feb. 17 & 18, 2024

Verdi’s “Il Trovatore” will star Min Kim (Il Conte di Luna), Claire de Monteil (Leonora), Ana Victoria Pitts (Azucena), and Matteo Desole (Manrico).  Stefano Monti directs and Giovanni Di Stefano conducts.

Performance Dates: March 15 & 17, 2024

Donizetti’s “L’Elisir d’amore” will be presented for family.
