
Julia Bullock & Karim Sulayman Headline Yale Schwarzman Center’s Spring 2025 Program
By David SalazarThe Yale Schwarzman Center has announced its Spring 2025 lineup of events. Here is a rundown of the classical vocal offerings.
First up is a work-in-progress presentation for Ted Hearne and Chana Porter’s “The Dispossessed.” The work is based on an award-winning novel that explores a future utopian society.
Performance Date: Jan. 18, 2025
Soprano Julia Bullock and the New Haven Symphony orchestra perform a program of music by Jessie Montgomery, Tania León, Allison Loggins-Hull, Pamela Z., and Yale School of Music alumna Carolyn Yarnell ‘89. Christian Reif conducts the performance. The project also features work by Tony Award-winning designer and visual artist Hana S. Kim.
Performance Date: Feb. 7 & 8, 2025
Tenor Karim Sulayman joins in on Kaleidoscope Chamber Collective’s performance, which also features clarinetist David Krakauer. The showcase features works by Golijov and Beethoven, among others.
Performance Date: April 24, 2025
“With multiple new commissions, Yale Schwarzman Center continues to open doors and carve out a distinctive space as a place in which both emerging and iconic artists reflect and share the transformative power of music and creativity to ignite dialogue, foster change, and unite communities,” said Executive Director Rachel Fine in an offciial press release. “Collaborations abound this season, as we partner with artists and organizations across campus, throughout New Haven, and around the globe, ensuring that Yale Schwarzman Center’s diverse programming honors the collective spirit that fuels and propels our bold programming lineup.”
