Julia Bullock Headlines Guildhall School of Music and Drama Digital Fall 2020 Program

Guildhall School of Music and Drama has announced new digital programming for its fall 2020 season.

Starting in September, audiences will get access to live broadcasts and pre-recorded content across all school departments.

The opera department will also present three Italian works directed by Stephen Medcalf, including Mascagni’s “Zanetto,” Wolf-Ferrari’s “Il Segreto di Susanna,” and Donizetti’s “Rita.”

Additionally, the organization announced that soprano Julia Bullock will be Artist in Residence for 2020-22.

Other events are a reimagining of Shakespeare’s“A Midsummer Night’s Dream” and a new play “Pod,” co-created by Jamie Bradley and Vicki Igbokwe. There will also be a year-long series of concerts from the jazz department and masterclasses with numerous artists including Kate Royal, Roderick Williams, Jonathan Dove, Alison Bauld, and such pianists as Stephen Hough, Imogen Cooper, Iain Burnside, and Julius Drake.
