Julia Bullock, Golda Schultz & Ian Bostridge Lead San Francisco Symphony’s 2022-23 Season

The San Francisco Symphony has announced its 2022-23 season and will feature numerous vocal performances. Here is a look at the vocal performances of the season.

Golda Schultz and Michelle DeYoung will perform Mahler’s Symphony No. 2 with Esa-Pekka Salonen conducting. A work by Trevor Weston will have its world premiere.  

Performance Dates: Sept. 29-Oct. 2, 2022

Esa-Pekka Salonen and Golda Schultz join forces for a program of Sibelius, Daniel Kidane, and Stravinsky.

Performance Dates: Oct. 7-9, 2022

Xian Zhang conducts Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 with Gabriella Reyes, Kelley O’Connor, Issachah Savage, and Reginald Smith Jr. The performance also features the music of Samuel Coleridge-Taylor and Michael Abels.

Performance Dates: Dec. 1-3, 2022

Masaaki Suzuki conducts Händel’s Messiah with Lauren Snouffer, Aryeh Cohen Nussbaum, Leif Aruhn-Solén, and Jonathon Adams.

Performance Dates: Dec. 9 & 10, 2022

Robin Ticciati conducts Mahler’s Symphony No. 4 with Ying Fang. The concert also includes Music by Jorge Widmann and violinist Albina Ibragimova.

Performance Dates:  Jan. 20-22, 2023

Alicia Hall Moran sings performs alongside Edwin Outwater in a program of music by George Gershwin and Gabriel Kahane.

Performance Dates: Feb. 2 & 3, 2023

Jane Glove conducts a concert with the San Francisco Symphony Chorus of music by Bach, Händel, and Garrop.

Performance Dates: April 13-15, 2023

Philippe Jordan conducts Britten’s War Requiem with Ian Bostridge and Iain Patterson.

Performance Dates: May 18-20, 2023

Esa-Pekka Salonen conducts Kaija Saariaho’s “Adriana Mater.” Peter Sellars directs with the San Francisco Symphony Chorus and San Francisco Symphony performing. The work stars mezzo-soprano Fleur Barron as Adriana, soprano Axelle Fanyo as Refka, tenor Nicholas Phan as Yonas, baritone Christopher Purves as Tsargo.

Performance Dates: June 8-11, 2023

Esa-Pekka Salonen and Julia Bullock perform a concert of music by Bonds, Gershwin, and Esmail.

Performance Dates: June 29-July 1, 2023
