Julia Bullock Cancels Philharmonia Ocrhestra Concerts Due to Injury

By Francisco Salazar

The Philharmonia Orchestra has announced a cast change for its Jan. 31 concert and has canceled its Feb. 2 concert.

For the Jan. 31 concert, the orchestra said, “This performance was originally advertised with singer Julia Bullock. Unfortunately, she is unwell and regrets that she is unable to perform. We are grateful to Anu Komsi for stepping in at short notice.”

For the Feb. 2 concert the orchestra added, “Unfortunately, Julia Bullock has injured her back and is unable to travel.  She very much regrets that this means she cannot bring her project ‘History’s Persistent Voice to London’ this week, which was to include the premiere of Cassie Kinoshi’s new work blue skies, bluer seas. We hope to be able to reschedule it in a future season.

Komsi is set to perform Berlioz’s “Les nuits d’été” in a concert that includes Mahler’s Symphony No. 4 and will be conducted by Santtu-Matias Rouvali.
