Juilliard School to Present ‘A Centenary Celebration of Maria Callas’

The Consul General of Greece in New York and the Juilliard School are set to present “A Centenary Celebration of Maria Callas” on Sept. 21, 2023.

The showcase, which will take place at Paul Hall, will feature Stephen Wadsworth, librettist, director, and Juilliard faculty member, taking a deep dive into the legendary opera star’s life and impact on the opera world. The program will feature recordings of “La Divina” as well as a number of rarely seen photographs.

Following the showcase, attendees will get a chance to tour the Callas exhibit curated by the Juilliard Library and Archives.

Callas famously led master classes at Juilliard between 1971-72. Those sessions have been released commercially.
