Juan Jesús Rodríguez Accuses Festival Of Fraud
By Francisco SalazarBaritone Juan Jesús Rodríguez has accused the Festival de Música de Isla Cristina of fraud.
In a recent article for El Correo web, the Spanish singer alleged that he accepted to sing for the festival after the organizers Enrique Adrados and Danka Nikolic assured him that with ticket prices, the concert would be able to raise 5.000€, which would be given to Rodríguez’s ONG: Asociación Kiva Mirando a India.
However, the concert only sold 100 tickets, which is not even half of what the theater’s capacity is.
The festival responded noting that the baritone is lying and that they can prove it through various emails and WhatsApp messages. The festival also stated that they never promised anything and that Rodríguez did not promote the concert on his website. Additionally, the festival alleges that all the other concerts were sold out and that the 2,000 euros they raised were donated to the organization.
Rodríguez is next scheduled to appear at the Opéra de Marseille followed by appearances at the Metropolitan Opera, Opera de Oviedo, and the Gran Teatre del Liceu.
