Juan Diego Flórez, Nicole Car & Andrè Schuen Highlight Wiener Staatsoper’s Streaming Week

The Wiener Staatsoper has announced a week of streaming featuring performances from the 2020-21 season. Here is a look at what the week will offer.

Andrè Schuen, Federica Lombardi, Louise Alder, Philippe Sly, and Virginie Verrez star in Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro from a performance from earlier in 2021. Philippe Jordan conducts.

Georg Nigl, Camilla Nylund, Jochen Schmeckenbecher, Regula Mühlemann, Okka von der Damerau, and Peter Simonischek highlight Strauss’ “Die Fledermaus” from the 2020 New Year’s Eve performance. Cornelius Meister conducts.

Streaming Date: May 13, 2021

Tchaikovsky’s “Eugene Onegin” stars Andrè Schuen, Nicole Car, Bogdan Volkov, Anna Goryachova, and Dimitry Ivashchenko. Tomáš Hanus conducts the 2020 performance.

Pretty Yende, Juan Diego Flórez, Igor Golovatenko, and Margaret Plummer star in Simon Stone’s new production of Verdi’s La Traviata.” Giacomo Sagripanti conducts the 2021 performance.

Hans Werner Henze’s “Das Verratene Meer” is set to be streamed with Simone Young conducting the 2020 performance. The opera stars Vera-Lotte Boecker, Josh Lovell, Bo Skovhus, Erik Van Heyningen

Gounod’s “Faust” is conducted by Bertrand de Billy and stars Juan Diego Flórez, Nicole Car, Adam Palka, Étienne Dupuis, and Kate Lindsey. Frank Castorf directs the production.
