
Juan Diego Flórez & Nadine Sierra Lead Wiener Staatsoper’s Opera Ball

The Wiener Staatsoper has announced the 67th Opera Ball. The event will take place on Feb. 27 and will focus on Johann Strauss.
The Opera Ball will feature musical guests such as Juan Diego Flórez, Nadine Sierra, Maria Nazarova, and Daniel Jenz. Cornelius Meister will conduct the Viena State Opera Orchestra. The program will include such favorites as the “Csárdás” the waltz Frühlingsstimmen, “Bella enamorada” and “Alle maskiert” from “Eine Nacht in Venedig.”
The evening will also see a new creation by Martin Schläpfer, ballet director and chief choreographer of the Wiener Staatsballett. The Wiener Staatsballett will dance the “Imperial Waltz” with the soloists and four students from the Vienna State Opera Ballet Academy.
