Juan Diego Flórez, Lisette Oropesa, Federica Lombardi, Étienne Dupuis & Kate Lindsey Lead Wiener Staatsoper’s Streaming Slate

The Wiener Staatsoper has announced the slate of operas that it will be presenting on its streaming platform over the next week.

First up is a performance of Donizetti’s “L’elisir d’amore” from 2016 which will showcase Valentina Naforniţă, Stephen Costello, Marco Caria, and Erwin Schrott. Marco Armiliato conducts a production by Otto Schenk.

Streaming date: Dec. 6, 2021

Donizetti’s “Don Pasquale” from 2015 will get two streamings during the week. The opera stars Michele Pertusi, Valentina Naforniţă, Juan Diego Flórez, and Alessio Arduini. Jesús López Cobos conducts a production by Irina Brook.

Streaming dates: Dec. 7 & 10, 2021

Next up is 2020 production of Mozart’s “Die Entführung aus dem Serail” featuring Lisette Oropesa, Christian Nickel, Regula Mühlemann, Emanuela von Frankenberg, Stella Roberts, Daniel Behle, Michael Laurenz, Christian Natter, Ludwig Blochberger, and Goran Jurić. Antonello Manacorda conducts a production by Hans Neuenfels.

Streaming date: Dec. 8, 2021

The streaming slate continues with 2021 production of Mozart’s “Le Nozze di Figaro.” The opera spotlights Andrè Schuen, Federica Lombardi, Philippe Sly, Louise Alder, and Virginie Verrez. Philippe Jordan conducts a production by Jean-Pierre Ponnelle.

Streaming date: Dec. 11, 2021

Finally, the opera house will stream 2021 production of Gounod’s “Faust” starring Juan Diego Flórez, Nicole Car, Adam Palka, Étienne Dupuis, Martin Häßler, Kate Lindsey, and Monika Bohinec. Bertrand de Billy conducts a production by Frank Castorf.
