
Juan Antonio Cuéllar Named New Director of Sinfónica de Galicia
By Francisco SalazarJuan Antonio Cuéllar has been named the director of the Sinfónica de Galicia.
He will succeed Andrés Lacasa.
Cuéllar will assume the role of director of the Consorcio for Promoción de la Música de A Coruña which the Orquesta Sinfónica de Galicia depends on.
Cuéllar was the executive diretcor of the Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional and Asociación Sinfónica Nacional de Colombia. Alongside Mark Gillespie, he created the Orchestra of the Americas. He also headed the Orquesta Filarmónica Juvenil de Colombia alongside Fernando Cortés.
He has worked alongside producer Julio Reyes Copello, who has won numerous Grammy, Billboard and ASCAP awards, arranging, composing and orchestrating music.
