Joyce El-Khoury, Julien Behr, Ellen Giacone, Carlo Vistoli, Johanni van Oostrum Headline Insula Orchestra’s 2024-25 Season

Countertenor Carlo Vistoli will be amongst the soloists in “Cinema Music – Baroue O.S.T.” featuring works by Vivaldi, Purcell, Bach, Händel, and Mozart.
Performance Dates: Dec. 13 & 14, 2024 (La Seine Musicale) and Dec. 17 (Grand Théâtre de Provence)
Joyce El-Khoury, Julien Behr, Edwin Crossley Mercer, Lila Dufy, and Marie-Andrée Bouchard-Lesieur headline “Medée.” Marie-Ève Signeyrole directs the production at the Opéra Comique de Paris.
Performance Dates: Feb. 8 – 16, 2025
“Beethoven Wars” stars soprano Ellen Giacone and bass Matthieu Heim. Antonin Baudry directs and Arthur Qwak and Sandrine Lanno are the film co-directors.
Performance Dates: March 22, 2025 (Grand Théâtre de Provence); March 27 & 28 (HK Art Festival)
Next up is Schumann’s “Le Paradis et la Péri” with Johanni van Oostrum, Sebastian Kohlhepp, Agata Schmidt, Samuel Hasselhorn, Clara Guillon, and Brennan Hall. Daniela Kerck directs.
Performance Dates: May 14 – 17, 2025 (La Seine Musicale) and May 30, 2025 (Musikvererin)
“In ten years, Insula orchestra has created a unique identity to which the setting of La Seine Musicale gives a magnificent echo,” said conductor Laurence Equilbey in an official press release. “Ten years during which the orchestra has continuously brought masterpieces or rare works to life on period instruments, allowing the audience to rediscover them in a different way.”
